November 18th Update - event closed. Thank you for your donations! It's bittersweet, but the collection sites have hit capacity on donations.
You’re invited to join in a campaign to bring warmth to those affected by Hurricane Helene, particularly those in the western NC mountains, where the majority of Barnabas Notes images were shot. At the end of September, Hurricane Helene devastated this section of the Appalachian Mountains taking lives, washing away roads, destroying infrastructure, and damaging homes and businesses. The devastation was beyond comprehension, but in this time of shock, I hear from my friends there that there is a spiritual softening! May God be at work in this time to bring those who were living in darkness, slaves to sin, into the freedom only salvation in Christ can offer! Would you consider using this opportunity to pray for Western North Carolina and perhaps write a letter or two?
In my “other” artistic venture, one knitwear designer is leading a group of local yarn shops to #keepWNCwarm through the gifts of hand knits (and crochets). The event has expanded to include “warm letters” – letters of encouragement to strangers recovering from Hurricane Helene. Full details are available here: https://www.snickerdoodleknits.com/keepwncwarm

The event will continue as long as donations are needed. Note: even though the collection sites are yarn shops, you don’t not have to include a hand knit / crochet with your warm letters… unless you want to 😉.
